Specifically, at about 7:05 p.m. on September 22, 2025, the working group of the Professional Department, An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command presided over and coordinated with the Tinh Bien International Border Guard Station, Tinh Bien Ward Police, PC04 Department, An Giang Provincial Police, and Tinh Bien International Border Gate Customs to ambush and fight against drugs and crime.

During the ambush, a male subject was discovered driving a motorbike with license plate 67-AE 117.xx moving from Vinh Thuong hamlet (An Cu commune) towards Tinh Bien market, in the area of ​​Cong Binh street, group 28, Xuan Phu hamlet, Tinh Bien ward (An Giang province) with suspicious signs.

The task force signaled the subject to stop for inspection. When the task force was discovered, the subject immediately left the vehicle and ran away. After running a short distance, the subject dropped a tightly tied black plastic bag, inside were 2 plastic bags containing solid, white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine. The task force quickly chased and arrested the subject.

Through quick investigation, the subject admitted his name was Nguyen Chi Cuong, born in 1992, residing in Tinh Bien ward (An Giang province). Cuong admitted that the seized evidence bag was drugs. The subject said he was transporting the above drugs for a man named Soc (Cambodian) to deliver to another person to receive payment. The working group proceeded to make a record of the arrest of the offender in the act, confiscated and sealed the evidence.

Currently, the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command is urgently coordinating with relevant agencies to continue investigating and handling the case according to the law.
