This afternoon (July 1), speaking with VietNamNet reporters, the leader of Thai Binh Provincial Police said that the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and execute an order to temporarily detain Mr. To Duy Diep (42 years old, Director of the Kien Xuong District Land Registration Office Branch (under the Land Registration Office, Thai Binh Department of Natural Resources and Environment) to investigate the crime of Receiving bribes.
Mr. Diep was arrested after the police agency expanded the investigation into the case of "Abusing power and position while performing official duties" that occurred in Kien Xuong district (Thai Binh province). The case involved businessman Nguyen Son La (born in 1957; also known as La "crazy"; has 1 criminal record; resides in De Tham ward, Thai Binh city; hometown in Minh Quang commune, Kien Xuong district).
From December 2020 to present, Mr. To Duy Diep has held the position of Director of the Kien Xuong District Land Registration Office Branch. Previously, Mr. Diep was the Head of the Cadastral Information Archives Department, under the Land Registration Office - Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thai Binh.
As reported, regarding the case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" in Kien Xuong district, the Investigation Police Agency of Thai Binh Provincial Police has prosecuted and temporarily detained many suspects for further investigation and handling.
On June 12, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Son La for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties".
On June 13, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained two commune and district-level officials in Kien Xuong district. On June 17, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Minh Quang commune was also prosecuted and temporarily detained for investigation on the same charges.
On June 21, the police agency temporarily detained the Standing Vice Chairman of Kien Xuong District People's Committee Do Xuan Khu and Head of Kien Xuong District Department of Natural Resources and Environment Ngo Thi Bich Lien to investigate the crime of "Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties".
The case was directed by the leadership of Thai Binh Provincial Police to focus on expanding the investigation, handling related subjects and promptly recovering assets according to the provisions of law.
In the case related to businessman La "dien", Thai Binh police have just temporarily detained Mr. Do Xuan Khu, Vice Chairman of Kien Xuong District People's Committee and Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of this district.
