Closing and awarding ceremony of the Typical Family Festival of the Southwest region

Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, spoke at the closing ceremony.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that this year's Festival of Outstanding Families in the provinces and cities of the Southwest region took place in the context of the Party, the State and the entire political system paying much attention, directing and organizing the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in the spirit of Directive 06 of the Central Party Secretariat on family work, the Government's Strategy for Vietnam Family Development for the period 2021-2030. "In particular, our Festival has received attention, direction and coordination in a very methodical and scientific manner, with clear coordination and division of responsibilities between the presiding units, the hosting units and the units participating in organizing the Festival. The activities were carefully prepared, thoughtfully and specifically assigned to each unit in charge... The participating delegations actively and carefully prepared, bringing the unique identity of the locality and region," Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc assessed.

Mr. Truong Thanh Phong, Commander of the Military Command of Tra Vinh province, awarded the prize to the family that won first prize in the "Colors of Love" contest.

Also through the speech, the representative of the Organizing Committee reviewed the impressions and results of the Festival. In the art performance section "Talented Family" and the section "Colors of Love", the families brought to the Festival and the audience elaborately staged, creative, diverse in form, rich in content. The families together created a colorful, rich, unique cultural picture, depicting the unique features in the family tradition of the Southwest region with many artistic talent competitions, skits, and extremely lively and attractive fashion shows.

Mr. Le Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, awarded the first prize to the family that won the "Talented Family" contest.

In the cooking competition “Weekend Delicacies”, families brought a cozy feeling, with simple but nutritious dishes. Family meals are a symbol of reunion and a space to connect love between family members. In the hustle and bustle of modern life, family meals are a beautiful feature of traditional Vietnamese culture that needs to be preserved and promoted. This is also the message that the Organizing Committee wants to send through this competition.

Mr. Kim Ruong, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee, awarded the first prize to the family that won the cooking contest "Weekend Delicacies"

In the “Playing with Children” competition, families joined in sports and entertainment activities, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, sharing and love within the family. The competitions were very exciting, bringing laughter and joy to the families. A healthy family in both mental and physical health will be an important premise for building happiness. The competition contributed to encouraging and motivating physical training and sports following the example of great Uncle Ho.

Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province, awarded the first prize to the family that won the "Playing with children" contest.

The new point in the contest content of this year's festival is the "Reading with children" contest. In this contest, families have prepared very carefully and meticulously. Each contest is an extremely interesting and intellectual experience. Reading books with children, to love, share, and draw good things from books, such as "mother lulls her lonely children to sleep, milk nourishes the body, songs and books nourish the person". The Organizing Committee hopes that through this contest, it will promote and encourage the reading movement in all classes of people, especially the young generation, the young generation of the nation. Through this, it will promote the talent for reading, introduce books, build reading habits, nurture the love of books of each family member; at the same time, create conditions for families to participate in reading promotion activities with their children, contributing to building a prosperous and happy family.

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee of the Festival awarded the first prize to the family of Tra Vinh province in the art performance competition "Talented Family"; Dong Thap province with the fashion performance competition "Colors of Love" and "Reading with Children"; Soc Trang province with the cooking competition "Weekend Delicacies"; Kien Giang province with the sports competition "Playing with Children". In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 7 consolation prizes for the competitions. For the "Reading with Children" competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 10 third prizes.

The 5th Festival of Outstanding Families of the Provinces and Cities in the Southwest Region will be held in Dong Thap province.
