Ronaldo could face Messi in America.

At 40 years old and entering his third season in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has yet to win a domestic title. Meanwhile, the Portuguese superstar's £164m-a-year contract with Al-Nassr is due to end this summer.

Notably, CR7's contract extension negotiations with Al-Nassr suddenly stalled when the Saudi Pro League team failed to qualify for next season's AFC Champions League.

However, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner soon received an offer that opened the door to leaving Saudi Arabia. According to Marca , a Brazilian club participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup expressed interest in Ronaldo's services.

The team has not been announced, but the four Brazilian representatives in the tournament, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo, are the strong candidates. If Ronaldo joins Palmeiras, he will reunite with his rival Lionel Messi, as the club is in the same group as Inter Miami, Porto and Al Ahly.

The FIFA Club World Cup is a tournament that Ronaldo is no stranger to, having won four times in his illustrious career. The first time was in 2008 with MU, when the "Red Devils" defeated LDU Quito 1-0 in the final with the only goal from Wayne Rooney.

This transfer offer opens up the possibility of Ronaldo returning to the continental stage in the US. "A war between Ronaldo and Messi is what FIFA is looking forward to," wrote The Sun.
