Patient in critical condition after taking more than 100 psychotropic pills

The patient is TTH (born in 1958, residing in Krong Bong district). Previously, at 7:39 p.m. on March 27, the patient was admitted to the Central Highlands General Hospital in a deep coma.

According to the patient's family, at 4:30 p.m. the same day, at home the patient took more than 100 pills of various types such as Olazapine, Piracetam, Valproate Sodium... After that, the patient became unconscious and lost consciousness, so his family took him to the emergency room.

A patient in critical condition due to an overdose of psychotropic drugs is being actively treated by doctors.

At the Central Highlands General Hospital, after receiving a patient with a diagnosis of coma/severe psychotropic drug poisoning/epilepsy/mental disorder, the hospital's doctors quickly performed emergency treatment for the patient.

Doctor CKII Huynh Thi Doan Dung, Deputy Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning at the Central Highlands General Hospital, said that given the patient's critical condition, the department immediately performed endotracheal intubation, gastric lavage, and catheterization.

The patient was then put on hemodialysis combined with blood filtration using an HA 230 filter to filter out toxins. After a day of intensive care, the patient's condition gradually improved. To date, the patient has recovered well.
