The patient, Mr. Ibrahim Muhammad, 34 years old, had a work accident and was taken to Vietnam's Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 with a complex open wound on the third phalanx of the middle finger (3rd finger) of the left hand. The wound included a nearly complete rupture of the soft tissue around the tip of the finger and a crushed fracture of the third phalanx with loose fragments, which was determined at the second hour after the injury.
Upon admission, doctors at Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 promptly examined, diagnosed, and performed emergency surgery. The surgical team treated the wound and adjusted the bone with the goal of preserving the maximum anatomy and motor function of the finger.
