To prepare for the exam, the Department of Education and Training has directed schools to organize review sessions, focusing on organizing teaching, testing, and evaluating grade 9 students, completing theeducational program according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training; organizing end-of-semester I and II exams and evaluating and classifying students for the 2024-2025 school year.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: To prepare for the exam, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue an Enrollment Plan from February 2025 (Decision No. 522/QD-UBND), and at the same time issued a series of guiding documents, directing operations, ensuring consistency, synchronization and clarity in the implementation process. From announcing the exam structure, the third subject, reference questions to regulations on exam organization, grading, review and admission - all are "standardized" in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Unlike previous years, this year our province organizes a joint entrance exam for grade 10 for both Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and non-specialized high schools. All candidates must complete three compulsory exams: Math, Literature and Foreign Language. Candidates applying for Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted will take an additional exam in the subject they registered for, out of 11 subjects: Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, History, Geography, Russian and French.
The Department of Education and Training has assigned high schools to organize instructions for enrollment registration and implement enrollment plans. From May 22 to May 24, schools will organize for students to register for the exam.
To create the most favorable conditions for candidates, the Department of Education and Training has arranged 47 examination councils, including 45 public high schools and 2 non-public schools, Thien Truong High School and Quang Trung High School. It is expected that this year, 23,196 candidates will register for the exam, of which 1,517 students will take the exam at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted with 11 specialized subjects: Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, History, Geography, Russian and French, the remaining 21,679 candidates will register for non-specialized high schools. With the number of candidates registering for the exam being 23,196, it is expected that the whole province will arrange 1,060 examination rooms, including 990 examination rooms for Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 70 examination rooms for specialized subjects.
Currently, the preparation of facilities at the examination sites has been carefully implemented and completed earlier than planned. At 47 examination sites, the Department of Education and Training has directed schools to proactively check and fully supplement lighting systems, fans, tables and chairs, internal loudspeaker systems, medical rooms, rooms for storing exam papers and papers, meeting rooms, offices for invigilators and inspectors. At the same time, each examination site has developed a contingency plan in case of storms, power outages, heat waves or unusual situations related to candidates' health.
Along with the preparation of facilities, human resources for the exam are also carefully prepared. The Department of Education and Training has organized professional training for 600 officers involved in exam supervision, marking, score entry, and incident handling; about 200 officers in the Department's exam inspection network have also completed the training program to be ready to perform the task of checking and supervising the exam at exam sites throughout the province.
Along with the preparation of the Department, secondary schools have also urgently organized review sessions for 9th grade students, proactively coordinated with parents and local authorities to manage students' learning and review; cared for and created conditions to help students in difficult circumstances, students with poor academic performance. In particular, schools organize quality surveys every semester to classify students according to their abilities and adjust appropriate review methods. Students are guided to exploit exam preparation software, reference question systems, digital learning platforms and are supported by teachers in groups. The school's professional groups update and analyze sample exam questions, guide how to do the test, emphasize test-taking skills, and how to allocate time reasonably in the exam room.
At high schools, preparations for facilities and equipment for the exam are also being urgently implemented. Mr. Le Thanh Giang, Principal of Giao Thuy High School (Giao Thuy) said: Up to now, the school has 588 candidates registered for the exam. Along with reviewing the candidates' records, the school has prepared 25 exam rooms, ensuring security and order, food safety and hygiene, and taking care of the health of candidates and staff serving the exam at the school's exam site. At Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngoc, Principal, shared: To prepare for enrollment, the school has prepared facilities and human resources for the exam. With 1,517 candidates taking the specialized subject exam, the school has arranged 3 exam sites at 3 schools: Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Khuyen High School, Tran Hung Dao High School (Nam Dinh city) with a total of 70 exam rooms. The school announced the exam room and candidate registration number on the school's website for students and parents to easily look up. To facilitate students from far away to take the exam, the school organized buses to pick up 9th grade students and parents from districts in the province to take the specialized subject exam in Nam Dinh city on June 5, the gathering place was at 8 high-quality secondary schools in the districts. Before that, the school organized the "Grade 10 Admissions Consulting Day for the 2025-2026 school year" for students to explore the learning space, specialized classes, and traditional rooms; listen to advice from teachers and students to better understand each specialized subject, thereby determining the right goals for themselves.
The Department of Education and Training has sent a document to Nam Dinh Electricity and the Provincial Police Department requesting coordination to ensure stable power supply during the exam and ensure security and order at exam sites, especially in the transportation and preservation of exam questions and papers.
According to the announced exam schedule, the exam will be held on June 3, 4 and 5. The reasonable exam schedule, traffic flow around the exam locations and early support staff are arranged to ensure maximum convenience for candidates. In particular, the printing and transportation of exam papers are carried out in 3 independent isolation rounds, with officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police protecting all rounds. The delivery and receipt of exam papers and test papers between departments must be signed and sealed in accordance with regulations. Each exam location has a separate room for storing exam papers and test papers, with locks, cameras and rotating staff.
Along with that, the work of disease prevention, ensuring hygiene and food safety is also being coordinated by the education and health sectors. Each examination site has a medical room with enough medicine, thermometers, drinking water, health records for candidates and invigilators. The Department of Health directs medical units at the examination sites to be ready to support in handling any health-related situations that may arise.
The exam results are expected to be announced on June 17. The exam review will be completed no later than June 25.
With a proactive and positive spirit, the provincial Department of Education and Training has been coordinating with relevant departments to drastically and synchronously implement solutions to organize the exam safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations, creating the most favorable conditions for candidates.
