Improve traffic culture among youth

Youth Union members of Giao Thuy district launched a campaign to promote traffic safety.

Responding to the campaign "Youth with traffic culture", the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have developed specific plans and programs of activities, close to reality and suitable to the conditions of each locality; actively propagated andeducated union members and youth to comply with the Road Traffic Law, focusing on innovating the content and form of traffic safety propaganda to attract youth to participate. Specifically, the Youth Union chapters at all levels have propagated through competitions to learn about the Road Traffic Law, hanging billboards, posters, banners, and slogans on the roads. The Youth Union chapters at communes, wards, and towns have built models, youth teams, and works to ensure traffic safety; schools have organized extracurricular activities, seminars, and competitions on traffic safety, built a model of "Traffic Safety School Gate", signed a commitment not to violate traffic safety order at the beginning of the school year, and established shock troops at school gates, etc.

In addition, the Youth Union bases have increased propaganda and dissemination activities on traffic safety, focusing on visual propaganda through social networking sites such as Zalo and Facebook, with popular content focusing on ensuring traffic safety and order, the Road Traffic Law; Decree 100/2019/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road and railway traffic; Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Beer. Units have focused on propaganda targeting subjects at high risk of causing traffic accidents such as young people in rural areas, school youth, etc. Typically, Nghia Hung District Youth Union regularly organizes volunteer youth teams to coordinate with the district traffic police force to march, parade, propagate and guide traffic participants to comply with the Road Traffic Law; effectively maintain and replicate models of youth participating in ensuring traffic safety and order, especially widely propagating to school students through extracurricular activities, flag-raising activities, and traffic safety competitions. Directing all levels of the Youth Union to sign a commitment with each member and youth to strictly comply with the Road Traffic Law and commit to implementing the "4 no's" (no driving a motorbike without a driver's license; no weaving, swerving, or exceeding the speed limit when driving a motorbike; no cheering for illegal racing; no driving a motorbike after drinking alcohol or beer)... Comrade Ninh Viet Phong, Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, said: "Strengthening propaganda work to raise awareness of compliance with traffic safety laws to each member and youth has contributed to preventing and reducing the number of traffic accidents in the district. In the coming time, the District Youth Union will continue to direct grassroots youth organizations to promote propaganda activities on cultural behavior when participating in traffic, including traffic safety content in the monthly, quarterly, and annual emulation assessment criteria of grassroots youth organizations and youth organizations; organizing 100% of students to sign a commitment not to violate traffic safety laws; grassroots youth organizations Commune and town youth unions build models of "Youth self-managed routes that are bright - green - clean - beautiful and orderly in traffic safety", "Youth volunteer teams participating in ensuring traffic order and safety in the area".

Along with the implemented solutions, from 2024 to present, the Youth Union at all levels in the province have organized competitions, conferences to propagate, train, equip knowledge when participating in traffic, basic content on traffic safety and practical skills for safe motorbike driving for over 90 thousand students, union members and young people. The Provincial Youth Union directed to improve the quality of activities of 199 "Traffic Safety School Gate" models. Coordinate with relevant organizations and units to repair rural roads, implement the "Rural Security Light" model; maintain and attach new signs to self-managed youth routes "Bright - green - clean - beautiful, civilized, safe", promote the building of a civilized lifestyle, cultural behavior when participating in traffic among young people and people. In addition, the youth of the whole province have built many good models and effective ways to participate in maintaining traffic safety and order and building traffic culture, typically the models: "Safe ferry terminal", "Self-managed youth route for security and order", "Youth shock team for traffic safety propaganda"; "Youth volunteer team for first aid and rapid response to traffic accidents"... are being widely replicated and effectively promoted.

In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to promote the pioneering and voluntary role of union members and young people in ensuring traffic order and safety. At the same time, it will raise awareness, create a sense of self-discipline in law enforcement, and build cultural behavior among young people when participating in traffic.
