Cao Thang Eye Hospital sets record for achieving JCI certification

Cao Thang Eye Hospital is the first eye medical facility in Vietnam to achieve JCI quality certification and maintain it continuously for the longest period of time.

At the opening session of the 2025 Science and Technology Conference organized by Saigon Medical Group (Saigon Eye) on September 20, Cao Thang Eye Hospital was awarded the 6th JCI certification (2009-2025) by Mr. Nick Liew, Asia- Pacific Regional Manager (JCI representative). At the same time, the Southeast Asia Record Organization announced the record of "The first eye medical facility in Vietnam to achieve JCI quality certification and maintain it continuously for the most years".

Mr. Huynh Le Duc, General Director of Saigon Medical Corporation, said that this event marked the hospital's pioneering role in managing ophthalmic surgical safety according to international standards.

Besides Cao Thang Eye Hospital, medical units that have achieved JCI in Vietnam participated in the conference, including representatives of Phuong Chau Medical Group; Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital; FV Hospital; American International Hospital and Vinmec Healthcare System.

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health shared that from Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions, strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health, the Ministry of Health continues to implement to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. We believe that in the future, there will be more hospitals achieving JCI certification, helping people access higher quality care services.

"We are also developing a medical tourism project and eyes will also be an area of ​​interest. Because when we have good quality, JCI standards, fast service, good technical expertise, we will meet the needs of many tourists interested in eye diseases," said Dr. Ha Anh Duc.

The conference gathered more than 400 doctors and medical staff with more than 50 reports.

The 2025 Science and Technology Conference took place with the theme "Modern technology, JCI quality" with more than 50 scientific reports in many fields such as: Ophthalmology; General Medicine - Pharmacy - Testing; Nursing. In the Ophthalmology session, the speakers focused on updating advanced surgical techniques such as Phaco in cataract treatment; Lasik, Smile in refraction, corneal transplantation, vitreous retinal surgery, and trends in applying Al in diagnostic imaging.

The General Medicine - Pharmacy - Laboratory session includes presentations of practical clinical research on digestive surgery, obstetrics, anesthesia and pediatrics; and shares solutions for safe and reasonable drug management and improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment monitoring.

The Nursing session focuses on reports reflecting the role of direct engagement with patients, from pain care, health education to improving patient experience...

Specialist Doctor 2 Hoang Trung Kien, Senior Executive Director - Medical Expertise, Saigon Medical Group shared that the reports reflect serious efforts, persistent scientific research spirit and high practical applicability.

"Not only contributing to improving the quality of diagnosis, treatment and patient care in each professional field, the reporting topics also demonstrate the aspiration to reach academic heights and integrate internationally of the team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses and technicians," shared Dr. Hoang Trung Kien.
