Access to new cancer drugs
The 25th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Oncology Hospital was held on November 7. At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen acknowledged that among the top 3 hospitals specializing in oncology in the country, Hanoi Oncology Hospital effectively supports professional work for specialized facilities, treating over 300,000 cancer cases each year.

"The clinical trials conducted by Hanoi Oncology Hospital are well implemented, especially with biological drugs and targeted drugs, opening up opportunities to access new drugs for cancer patients," Mr. Tuyen highly appreciated the research and treatment work at the hospital.
Dr. Bui Vinh Quang, Director of Hanoi Oncology Hospital, said that the hospital has been implementing 48 clinical trials, ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Health 's standard procedures and research requirements.
The Hanoi Oncology Hospital Clinical Research Unit conducts clinical trials that provide access to modern, free treatments, contributing to improving the effectiveness of cancer treatment, and playing an important role in providing valuable data for national and international public health and cancer research.
By participating in clinical research, thousands of cancer patients have had access to new drugs and treatment methods.
The number of cancer cases in Vietnam has nearly doubled in more than 10 years.
Within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Oncology Hospital, the Hanoi Cancer Prevention 2025 conference was held with 100 scientific reports, including 27 articles from international reporters (USA, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Taiwan - China, Malaysia, Singapore, India) with the participation of more than 500 domestic experts. The conference is a prestigious scientific forum, exchanging experiences and publishing the latest research in the field of oncology.
According to information at the conference, cancer is increasing rapidly worldwide. In Vietnam, the number of cancer cases has nearly doubled in just over a decade, from 92,000 cases in 2010 to 180,000 cases in 2022.
At the ceremony, the Hanoi Oncology Hospital received the Second Class Labor Medal. The Director of Hanoi Oncology Hospital received the Third Class Labor Medal, awarded by the President, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to research and application of advanced cancer treatment methods.
Hanoi Oncology Hospital is the final line of technical expertise in oncology nationwide, providing comprehensive medical services for diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The hospital has more than 700 staff, including 160 doctors, 81% of whom have postgraduate qualifications; has articles published internationally.
