As the head of the Thanh Xuan District Party Committee, how do you perceive your responsibility after the particularly serious fire on Khuong Ha Street?
- When faced with such a heartbreaking incident, we all feel our personal responsibility, including mine.
During the inspection and review of fire prevention and fighting work and construction of the apartment building after the fire, if any violations are discovered, will there be any restricted areas in handling the related officers, Madam?
- The viewpoint of the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee since the first day of the fire was very clear and specific, that is, wherever there is a violation, the cadres will be dealt with accordingly, no forbidden zones, no exceptions. This is a very clear message from the head of the city. As the head of the Thanh Xuan District Party Committee, I comply with all instructions.
It is known that in Thanh Xuan district, there are at least 6 constructions of defendant Nghiem Quang Minh (owner of the burnt apartment building in Khuong Ha) that have built more floors than the permit. Will you direct relevant units to clarify this issue in the near future?
- Not only Thanh Xuan district, after the fire, the City People's Committee has given a very specific timeline for reviewing mini apartments and boarding houses in the city.
Speaking to the press, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi said that every extra-storey construction project has a 'backer'. So will Thanh Xuan district intervene and verify this content?
- We must distinguish between the former Secretary of the City Party Committee speaking at the conference on the content related to the amendment of the Capital Law and myself not being a participant in the conference. As for the exchange with the press, I did not directly witness it so I would like to refrain from commenting on this content.
As I discussed, the city has given a specific timeline, a general review of multi-apartment housing areas (also known as mini apartments) or rental housing forms, or residential areas with a high concentration of people, focusing on the right timeline according to the plan.
