On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), this morning, April 27, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Nay, in Gia Mon village, Phong Binh commune, and the family of Mr. Duong Ba Quy, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, in An My village, Gio My commune, Gio Linh district.

Visiting the heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Nay, who is 93 years old this year, whose husband and children died in the resistance war against the US to save the country, comrade Phan Dinh Trac kindly asked about the health of the mother and her family. At the same time, he shared that the Party and State always respect the great contributions of heroic Vietnamese mothers and families of people who have contributed to the revolutionary cause of the nation.

Sharing the family's loss upon hearing the news of Mr. Quy's recent passing due to serious illness, comrade Phan Dinh Trac expressed his emotion at the story of the heroic feats of the People's Armed Forces Hero Duong Ba Quy.

Joining revolutionary activities at the age of 13, as a secret guerrilla in the demilitarized zone in Gio Linh district, in more than 15 years of participating in revolutionary activities, Mr. Quy participated in 67 battles, achieving many outstanding achievements.

He was awarded many noble prizes by the Party, the State and organizations such as: 1 First-class Resistance War Medal against America for National Salvation; 8 First, Second and Third-class Military Exploit Medals; 1 Second-class Victory Medal; 6 emulation soldier certificates; 17 times awarded the title of American-killing Brave Soldier, Determined-to-Win Brave Soldier and many other certificates of merit.

The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission expressed his deep gratitude for the great and heroic contributions of People's Armed Forces Hero Duong Ba Quy in the struggle for national liberation and reunification.

At the same time, he hoped that the family would continue to maintain and pass on the revolutionary spirit to future generations and local people, and encourage them to make more efforts, contribute to building a happy family, and join hands for the development of the locality and the country. Comrade Phan Dinh Trac suggested that the locality continue to pay attention to policy families and meritorious people in the area.
