Commending 2 brave men who saved a drowning person on Lam River

Dung Town, Thanh Chuong District has just honored two citizens of the town for their brave actions in saving a drowning person on Lam River.

On the morning of June 21, representatives of Dung Town People's Committee visited the family to present Certificates of Merit and gifts to Mr. Le Van Vuong and Mr. Ngu Van Binh, 2 citizens residing in Block 4A, Dung Town, who had bravely saved a drowning person.

Earlier, at noon on June 20, on the Lam River flowing through Dung town, a man drowned. Hearing the local people calling for help, without hesitation, Mr. Vuong and Mr. Binh, who live nearby, immediately ran to the river and successfully saved a drowning man.

Mr. Le Van Vuong said: Yesterday, while cooking lunch, I heard someone calling, I rushed down to the river with Mr. Binh - a local resident, to urgently organize a rescue of the drowning person. Just a moment later, we brought the victim to shore. Fortunately, the victim was still conscious.

It is known that Mr. Vuong and Mr. Binh were fishermen, good at swimming and saved many people from drowning on Lam River.
