Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang emphasized that after 70 years of development and growth, Binh Dinh's health sector has made comprehensive and strong progress. The preventive health system, medical examination and treatment facilities, pharmaceutical production and supply, health insurance, and the professional capacity of the medical staff have been constantly improved.

In 2024, the provincial health sector achieved many important achievements, contributing to the overall socio -economic development of the province. The most notable was the completion and surpassing of 6/6 health - population targets. As a result, the rate of population participating in health insurance reached over 96%; 100% of health stations had doctors working; nearly 97% of communes, wards and towns met the National Health Criteria; the rate of malnutrition in children under 5 years old decreased to over 6.7%...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang added that the provincial health sector has also applied many new and specialized techniques to medical examination and treatment. Complicated cases that used to have to be referred to the Central level are now being treated effectively locally thanks to the implementation of the Satellite Hospital Project, cooperation in human resource training and technology transfer from major hospitals across the country. To date, the province has completely eliminated malaria in 11/11 districts, towns and cities, eliminated leprosy and neonatal tetanus; and maintained the achievement of eliminating polio.

Also according to Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee, the major "highlight" of the health sector in 2024 is reform and digital transformation.
