Binh Duong promotes internal strength, develops education from kindergarten to university

In recent times, the implementation of policies to encourage the socialization of education and health care in Binh Duong has achieved remarkable results. The entire Education and Training sector has 732 schools, of which 336 are non-public schools, accounting for nearly 46% of the total number of educational institutions. In addition, the province currently has 3 non-public higher education institutions with a total investment capital of about 2,270 billion VND.

Up to now, the rate of school buildings in the province that have been upgraded has reached nearly 83%. The whole province has 19 school buildings that have been renovated, upgraded, expanded and newly built to serve the 2024-2025 school year with a total investment of more than 2,200 billion VND.

Along with that, effectively implement forms and methods of inspection, assessment, regular assessment and periodic assessment, ensuring that the requirements are met according to regulations... Strengthen the management of extra teaching and learning; direct units to properly implement regulations on extra teaching and learning in schools, ensuring that no case is licensed to teach extra outside of school...

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, during the school year, the Department of Education and Training issued the Smart School Criteria Set and piloted it at 7 schools, including 3 primary schools, 3 secondary schools and 1 high school. The happy school model is a great determination of the Binh Duong education sector, sending a positive signal, demonstrating continuous efforts to innovate, to better meet the requirements that society is placing. In Binh Duong, Thu Dau Mot City is the unit chosen to pilot the happy school model and has achieved many positive results. The education and training sector of Thu Dau Mot City continues to consider the creation of happy schools as a key task in the 2024-2025 school year.

The whole sector has continued to improve and enhance the quality and effectiveness of training and organizing competitions to select excellent students to compete at the provincial level and teams to compete at the national level, specifically: the results of the provincial-level secondary school competition, with 600 students winning prizes (11 first prizes, 52 second prizes, 103 third prizes and 434 consolation prizes; an increase of 144 prizes compared to the 2022-2023 school year). In March 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that Binh Duong leads the country in the rate of students passing and enrolling in universities and colleges with a rate of 80.61% (achievement for 2 consecutive years).

The results of the provincial-level high school excellent student exam showed that 382 students won prizes (13 first prizes, 34 second prizes, 79 third prizes and 256 consolation prizes; an increase of 77 prizes compared to the 2022-2023 school year); the results of the National Excellent Student Exam achieved 42 prizes (06 second prizes, 12 third prizes, 24 consolation prizes; an increase of 11 prizes compared to the 2022-2023 school year); Binh Duong province had 01 student summoned to participate in the regional and international Olympic team selection exam for the 2023-2024 school year (Chemistry subject)...

In addition, the Department of Education and Training successfully organized the Provincial Competition for Excellent Teachers and Excellent Homeroom Teachers for secondary schools (13 high school teachers and 31 middle school teachers were recognized as excellent teachers and excellent homeroom teachers); English Olympic Competition for secondary and high school levels (rewarding 20 best students of the two levels); Provincial Science and Technology Research Competition for high school students (rewarding students and instructors of 32 winning projects); selected 02 excellent projects from the provincial competition to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2023-2024 school year, resulting in 01 project winning the Fourth Prize; Olympic Competition for Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (awarding 36 individuals and 06 team prizes); Successfully organized the National High School Student Selection Exam for the 2024-2025 school year (Round 1) and the Provincial Middle School Student Selection Exam for the 2023-2024 school year...

Currently, the whole Binh Duong province has 91/91 communes, wards and towns with kindergartens and primary schools; 76/91 communes, wards and towns have junior high schools, reaching a rate of 83.52%; 9/9 districts and cities have high schools; in addition, there is 1 Provincial Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Training (GDTX and BDNV) and 6 District and City Centers for Vocational Education - Continuing Education (GDNN-GDTX).

By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the entire provincial education and training sector will have 728 schools and centers (381 public educational institutions, 347 non-public educational institutions); of which, preschools: 441; primary schools: 156; junior high schools: 84; high schools: 40; 1 provincial Continuing Education and Vocational Training Center and 6 district and city vocational education and continuing education centers.

In addition, in the province, there are 682 private independent preschools with a scale of over 7 children and 124 private independent preschools with a maximum scale of 7 children; 3 schools with foreign investment (Singapore International School in Binh Duong New City, Viet Hoa Kindergarten, Viet Hoa Primary and Secondary School); 8 universities (including 03 non-public schools); 156 centers have been issued with decisions to establish and granted operating licenses according to regulations, including: 143 foreign language - information technology centers, 06 life skills education facilities and 07 centers to support the development of inclusive education.

In addition to the results achieved, Binh Duong also needs appropriate and strong policies and regimes to attract human resources for the education and training sector, especially preschool teachers. In addition, the province also needs to have an open mechanism in land policies for education, and a strong enough legal corridor to create favorable conditions for businesses and investors to participate more in socializing education to reduce pressure on public educational institutions.

To improve the quality of education, in the coming time, Binh Duong will mobilize and concentrate intelligence, continue to promote internal resources, develop education, from preschool to university. In particular, promote socialization, mobilize investment resources to develop vocational education, synchronously develop and strongly restructure the network of vocational education institutions. Build a remuneration regime, attract talents, high-quality human resources to ensure enough attractiveness to work and live in Binh Duong, thereby contributing to improving labor productivity, increasing the contribution of total factor productivity (TFP) to the growth scale of the province./.
