Lieutenant Colonel Truong Minh Duc - Commander of Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard presented support money from the Border Guard Command to the families of the deceased victims.
After the incident, the Provincial Border Guard Command reported to the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Lai Chau Provincial Search and Rescue Steering Committee for instructions and to notify the coordinating forces; directed the Si Lo Lau Border Guard Station to deploy initial professional measures, coordinate with local authorities and forces to search for missing victims and take 4 injured victims to Lai Chau Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment. At the same time, a working group was established, led by Lieutenant Colonel Truong Minh Duc, Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, to directly command and direct the search forces at the scene. The forces sent nearly 300 people to participate in the search. By 14:00 on May 17, 2025, the search forces had found the bodies of 5 victims.
