Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Quach Van Nho, Deputy Commander of Military Region 9, said: From 2020 to now, the entire Military Region has planted 746,803 new scattered trees, including 130,103 precious timber trees, reaching 133.5% of the plan and 1,524 hectares of forest, reaching 88% of the plan.
The Kien Giang Provincial Military Command alone planted 88,550 new trees and plans to plant 170,000 more in 2025. These are very encouraging results.

“For the benefit of 10 years of planting trees, for the benefit of 100 years of cultivating people”, in order for the Tree Planting Festival to be truly meaningful, bringing practical results, benefiting the country and the family, the Deputy Commander of Military Region 9 requested the Provincial Military Command together with agencies, departments, branches, and localities to continue to promote propaganda andeducation for officers, soldiers, defense workers, local people... to have a correct understanding of the purpose, meaning, great and long-term effects of planting trees, protecting forests, and protecting the ecological environment. Thereby, creating a deep and widespread movement throughout the military region and all people, contributing to mitigating natural disasters, responding to climate change, and improving the quality of life.

Immediately after the ceremony, delegates and officers and soldiers of Regiment 893 planted 2,050 rosewood trees supported by the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Forestry Sub-Department.
