With the theme “Sustainable Development”, the two European representatives will bring eye-catching performances, maximizing the language of light and sound, turning the sky by the Han River into a stage of art and emotion.
When nature speaks with fireworks
Participating for the first time at DIFF, Macedos Pirotecnia - a team from Portugal - has attracted attention with its nearly a century of experience in the field of fireworks. As a long-standing brand with a tradition of three generations of artisans, Macedos Pirotecnia is known as the "light ambassador" of the Mediterranean country.
The competition night promises a world-class performance called “The Light Concert for a Green Future”, combining modern pyrotechnic techniques with traditional effects such as volcanoes, comets and waterfalls of light. All are meticulously arranged to tell the story of the wild beauty of nature and a warning about the role of humans in preserving the planet.
“We paid special attention to the movement element,” said a representative of the Macedos Pirotecnia team. “The continuous fireworks effects create a strong rhythm, leading the audience’s emotions from suspense to explosion, ending with a climax with a titanium lightning bolt that lights up the sky.”
Despite being a “rookie” at DIFF, Macedos Pirotecnia is no novice. The team has a series of outstanding achievements such as awards in Monaco, Kaliningrad (Russia), Nantes (France), Czech Republic, Poland... and most recently, the runner-up position at the 2024 Philippine Fireworks Festival.
“Emotional Waves” and the ultimate visual game
In contrast to its new competitor, Pyrotex Fireworx from the UK is a familiar name at DIFF and one of Europe's top fireworks teams.
Returning to the Da Nang fireworks display this year, the team brought a performance called "Emotional Waves", which was carefully invested in and promised to hit the audience's hearts.
Using nearly 8,000 custom-designed fireworks, combined with modern lighting effects and unique music arrangements, Pyrotex Fireworx wants to convey a gentle yet powerful message: sustainable development starts with empathy between people, nature and the community.
“We want the audience to laugh, cry, and think. This year, the team ventured beyond the norm with complex pyrotechnic designs and custom-crafted effects. It was an effort to make a difference among the myriad of lights,” said a representative of Pyrotex Fireworx.
The British fireworks team’s achievements in 2024 were also extremely impressive, with a hat-trick of championships at three major festivals in Mexico, Canada and France – a testament to their international class and constant creativity.
Colorful night
Not only is the competition night of two strong competitors, the fourth night of DIFF 2025 is also a true art party. The audience will enjoy special musical performances from beloved singers such as Dong Hung, Lam Bao Ngoc, To My, along with exciting performances by professional dance troupes.
All blend together in the poetic space of the Han River and the Ngu Hanh Son stage, turning the fireworks night into an artistic feast - where emotions are sublimated and humane messages are spread by light.
DIFF 2025 is entering its climax with the appearance of world-class "talents". The competition between Portugal and the United Kingdom is not only a confrontation of technology and experience, but also an inspiring race for a green future and sustainable development. In this battle without a starting whistle, the audience is the impartial referee, and the sky of Da Nang will be the film recording the most beautiful moments of a brilliant summer.
Competition night 4 (June 21) Portugal - England; Night 5 (June 28): Korea - Italy will be broadcast live on Da Nang Radio and Television - DRT from 8:10 p.m.
The final night (July 12) will be broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television.
