The Ministry of Education and Training requested localities to soon announce the third exam subject - the 10th grade exam.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a document to the Departments of Education and Training regarding the selection and announcement of the third exam subject and guidance on admission criteria for junior high school and high school admissions.

The document clearly states: The Ministry of Education and Training has issued Circular No. 30/TT-BGD&DT dated December 30, 2024 promulgating the Regulations on Secondary School Admissions and High School Admissions; in which the selection of the third subject or exam for high school admissions and specific instructions on admission criteria for secondary school admissions are the responsibility of the Department of Education and Training.

To effectively carry out enrollment work from the 2024-2025 school year according to the new regulations, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training urgently deploy the organization of selection and soon announce the third exam subject or test according to regulations to facilitate students in studying, completing the program and reviewing, preparing well for the conditions, creating a mentality of readiness to take the exam and achieving good results.

At the same time, urgently develop and announce the principles and criteria for admission to grade 6 of junior high school in accordance with the actual conditions of the locality so that students, parents, teachers and schools can clearly understand and be proactive in the admission work.

For schools with a number of students registering for admission exceeding the school's assigned quota, the Department of Education and Training guides schools to conduct student capacity assessment in various forms (as prescribed in the student assessment regulations) such as: question-answer, writing, presentation, practice, experiment, etc. to ensure that admission is carried out fairly, publicly, transparently, and in accordance with practical conditions.

The Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training promptly implement this. During the implementation process, if there are any difficulties or problems, they should be reported to the Ministry of Education and Training (through the Department of Secondary Education ) for coordination and resolution.
