Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.
On the afternoon of May 29, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , answering questions related to the situation of illegally bringing Vietnamese citizens to the UK, spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: "We have received the information and are conducting further checks and verifications."
According to Ms. Hang, the Vietnamese Government is steadfast in its policy of encouraging legal, safe, and orderly migration and always strictly handles acts of organizing illegal migration abroad.
“Vietnam is currently implementing its commitments under the Global Compact on Migration (GCM), aiming to build a transparent, safe environment that respects and protects the rights of migrants,” said Ms. Hang.
The spokesperson said Vietnam continues to closely coordinate with international organizations, especially Interpol, in preventing and dismantling illegal migration networks. The government also affirmed its readiness to cooperate with relevant countries on the basis of international law and the principle of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.
At the press conference, Ms. Hang advised that people need to strictly comply with the law when working abroad and should not listen to illegal enticements and brokers offering "easy work, high salary".
“There are many cases where citizens go abroad and then arbitrarily flee, reside and work against their contracts. This makes them vulnerable to exploitation, forced labor or being lured into illegal activities,” Ms. Hang warned.
