The movie 'The Firewall of Trang An' warns about scams in the digital space

On November 14, 2025, Hanoi Radio and Television Station in collaboration with Hanoi City Police launched the long-running TV series "Trang An Firewall". This is the first TV series to deal with cases related to high-tech crimes such as virtual currency and online fraud.

Going beyond the framework of a TV series, the project is an effort of the City Police and Hanoi Radio and Television in propagating and warning people about fraudulent tricks in the digital space, helping to improve knowledge to protect themselves and their families when participating in the online environment.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police informed that in recent years, the situation of high-tech crimes has had many complicated developments. The subjects often change their methods, taking advantage of the development of technology and cyberspace to commit crimes.

In the first 10 months of 2025, the city detected 1,787 cases of fraud and property appropriation, accounting for 35% of the total number of criminal cases, causing damage of more than 925 billion VND.

Hanoi City Police have successfully fought many major and outstanding cases, such as coordinating investigations and discovering a transnational fraud ring related to foreign exchange, stock, and gold investment consulting and brokerage activities led by Pho Duc Nam (Mr. Pips).

Arrested and prosecuted 48 subjects, seized and frozen assets of the subjects with a total value of more than 5,300 billion VND. Coordinated investigation and dismantled a group of Fraudsters who appropriated assets of more than 2,000 victims, lured them into investing more than 2,000 billion VND in MPX digital currency, arrested and prosecuted 11 subjects, seized and frozen assets of the subjects with a total value of more than 500 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Son - Deputy General Director, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio said: "This case being included in the film is just one of the silent achievements of the Hanoi police force. This film was produced with the desire to be a cinematic and literary work telling a true story about those who protect the peace of the Capital. The film was really difficult to start production. This was also the first time I participated in writing a script. Thinking back now, I feel daring because the amount of content was too large. After I finished writing, the scriptwriter turned it into a film episode."

The film initially encountered many difficulties, but with the support of Hanoi Radio and especially Hanoi Police, it was able to overcome and complete. And it became even more meaningful when recently, Hanoi was chosen to host a special international event: the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime - "Hanoi Convention 2025".

The film stars Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai as Colonel Hoang, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department PC02; Meritorious Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen as Major General Bach, Deputy Director and Chief of the Investigation Police Agency of Hanoi City Police. There are also actors Doan Quoc Dam, Nguyen Thuy Anh, Meritorious Artist Thanh Binh...

The film will be broadcast from November 7, 2025 on channels H1, H2 and digital platforms of Hanoi Radio and Television, with an expected duration of 45 episodes.
