“Ignore” 1,300 points, focus on choosing stocks

Last trading week, VN-Index decreased by 2.29 points, closing at 1,280.75 points; while HNX-Index increased by 2.71 points, closing at 245.02 points. Although VN-Index ended the week with a slight decrease, the strong growth of the chemical industry group played an important role in keeping the index from falling too deeply.

The industry that contributed the most to the increase in VN-Index was the chemical group (3.32 points); while the industry had the most negative impact on the index (-4.19 points). Foreign investors continued to net sell more than VND4,569 billion on the HoSE.
