Arrange over 2,000 billion VND for compensation and resettlement for the Ca Mau City - Dat Mui expressway project

On the afternoon of June 2, at the 20th session (special session), delegates of the People's Council of Ca Mau province, term X, unanimously voted to pass a resolution on deploying and allocating local budget capital to implement the project of land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement to implement the expressway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui (according to regulations on urgent public investment projects stipulated in the Law on Public Investment 2024 and related legal provisions).

According to the resolution, the scale of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement is about 562 hectares. Of which, production forest land is 90 hectares; protective forest land is nearly 44 hectares; annual crop land is 348 hectares; the rest is rural residential land, perennial crop land, religious land, security land, traffic land, river land, streams and canals.

The total investment for the above land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement project is about 2,028 billion VND, using state budget capital including: the central budget supports about 50% of the total project investment; the remaining balance is arranged from the local budget.

According to the Prime Minister 's additional approval to the Vietnam road network planning (period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050), the Ca Mau City - Dat Mui expressway is 90km long, with a scale of 4 lanes; investment progress before 2030. The Prime Minister has directed the investment of the Ca Mau City - Dat Mui expressway according to the emergency process, the project must start on August 19, 2025.
