According to the assessment of the Ministry of Construction , due to the impact of storm No. 13 and post-storm circulation, the section Km226+600 - Km226+800 of the Mimosa Pass Improvement and Upgrade Project and some works on National Highway 20 have shown many damages, directly threatening the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic.

This is an area that has been continuously hit by heavy rains causing flash floods, landslides and land subsidence. Project Management Board 85 has reported the damage and requested the Ministry of Construction to declare an emergency situation in order to deploy timely handling measures.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Construction, the functional units will build a review, determine the level of damage, propose repair solutions and advise on arranging capital to implement the repair.

The Director of Project Management Board 85 is responsible to the Minister of Construction and the law for the accuracy of the damage report and the organization of remediation. The Department of Transport and Traffic Safety is assigned to urge and direct relevant units to ensure progress and safety in the process of handling the consequences of natural disasters.

Also on the morning of November 25, the Vietnam Road Administration said it had activated the highest level of disaster response in the South Central region. Authorities are urgently dealing with incidents at Mimosa, Prenn and D'Ran passes on National Highway 20. These are the most complex landslide sites, with many sections of the road surface cracked and unstable negative and positive slopes.

Project Management Board 85 has mobilized equipment, aiming to open Mimosa Pass to traffic before November 28. For Prenn Pass, the authorities will open one-way traffic before November 28. For the section adjacent to the cracked retaining wall, a specialized technical solution has been proposed with a deadline of completion before Lunar New Year.

At D'Ran Pass, due to the large volume of rock and soil and the complex construction location, the road management unit proposed adding more construction sites, mobilizing more machinery and equipment, and striving to open the road to one-way traffic before November 30.
