According to the Ministry of Health , the current situation of infectious diseases in the world is still complicated. Some diseases such as measles, whooping cough, dengue fever, malaria, influenza A (H5N1) continue to record high numbers of cases and outbreaks in many countries. In the country, measles is still recording high numbers of cases in children aged 11-15; in addition, endemic diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease also tend to increase locally in some localities.
The Ministry of Health believes that the hot and humid summer weather, heavy rain, and increased travel demand during the 2025 tourist peak will create favorable conditions for the development of many diseases, especially diseases transmitted through the digestive tract, respiratory tract, and mosquito-borne diseases.
To proactively prevent and control the epidemic, the Ministry of Health requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to assign local authorities to take full responsibility for epidemic prevention and control work; at the same time, mobilize departments, branches, and socio-political organizations to coordinate effectively in implementing epidemic prevention and control activities and expanded immunization. Localities need to allocate sufficient funds and ensure resources for epidemic prevention and control and expanded immunization work in 2025.
In particular, the Ministry of Health noted that it is necessary to have a plan to ensure smooth operations in the health system, and to avoid interruptions in disease prevention and vaccination work after merging and consolidating health units at all levels.
