Blockbuster STALKER 2 has an official release date

According to The Gamer , after 15 years of tumultuous development, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl finally has an official release date in September this year.

The good news was announced alongside a new trailer, although it didn't reveal much beyond a short cinematic and an official release date. The trailer suggests that developer GSC Game World is pretty confident that the game won't face any further delays.

STALKER 2 has an official release date

The development history of Stalker 2 is quite complicated. The game was originally scheduled to be released in 2012. After a long hiatus, the project was revived and scheduled for release in 2022. However, since GSC Game World is a Ukrainian studio, development was severely affected by the Russian attack. Since then, the game's development has continued, but due to many obstacles, the release date remains a big question mark.

Even after development resumed, the developer was threatened by hackers for its support of Ukraine. Despite this, GSC Game World remained steadfast in its stance, despite repeated cyberattacks.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on September 5, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X/S. As part of its limited exclusivity with Microsoft, the game will also be released on Xbox Game Pass. It is unclear whether the PlayStation version will be released after this deal ends.
