After the success of the 4m high zither displayed at Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu city, Mr. Ho Chi An (residing in Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province) continued to impress when creating the painting "Reaching the dawn" from salt grains right on the salt field in Long Dien Dong commune, Dong Hai district.
Mr. An shared: "At Hung Vuong Square, there is a zither made of salt that is loved by the people. From that spirit, I thought of making a salt relief painting right on the salt field for people and tourists to see near their cars when they come to the place to experience the salt making model.
Visitors can witness a real picture of salt, so that they can have a deeper insight into the salt making profession in their homeland Bac Lieu.
According to Mr. An, he came up with the idea and completed this painting within one day with a length of 25m and a width of 5m. The entire painting used about 300kg of white salt created on a nylon sheet spread on the ground with 10 workers.
The highlight of the painting is the image of a fleet of boats setting sail, including a large boat with the logo "Vietnam Salt Festival - Bac Lieu 2025" in the middle. In the right corner is a ray of sunlight, meaning the boat is setting sail towards the bright light, hoping for a bright future. Along with that are products of the sea, such as: shrimp, crab, fish...
