On October 22, Mr. Le Van Dung, Principal of An Thanh Secondary School (Van Duc Commune, Gia Lai Province), confirmed the above incident and said that the school had held a review meeting to learn from experience after parents' complaints that Vice Principal Pham Minh Trung had asked many classes to stop classes midway.

An Thanh Secondary School, where the incident occurred
According to the report, at around 1:50 p.m. on October 2, when students of classes 8A3 and 9A1 were in their first period, Mr. Pham Minh Trung suddenly entered the classroom and asked the teacher to stop teaching and let the students go out to the yard to clean up because the morning cleaning area of these two classes still had trash and leaves. Mr. Trung asked the teacher to make up for the fifth period on the morning of October 6, saying that "the school has the right to adjust the teaching schedule if learning conditions are not guaranteed."
"It's very offensive to force children to sweep the trash in the yard in the middle of the hot noon, while they are in the first period. Even if you want to remind them about hygiene, you shouldn't do that" - an indignant parent of class 8A3.
Parents also reported that during a Natural Science class of class 6A1 taught by Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Mr. Trung entered the classroom to check the lesson plan and equipment. When he discovered that there were missing equipment, he loudly shouted and asked Ms. Hanh to stop the class and go to the office.
This action made many teachers and students feel stressed, and parents thought that the Vice Principal abused his power and behaved in a way that lacked pedagogical standards.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Le Van Dung said that asking students to clean up was to remind them to strictly follow the cleaning schedule and raise awareness of preserving the school environment. "However, asking students to clean up during class time is unscientific and causes negative reactions. The school accepts responsibility and will learn from experience, ensuring that cleaning does not affect students' class time," Mr. Dung admitted.
Regarding the suspension of class 6A1, Mr. Dung said that according to regulations, if teaching conditions are not safe, teachers are allowed to temporarily suspend and make up for the lesson, but Mr. Trung's behavior was "not appropriate".
"Mr. Trung speaks a bit loudly, sometimes making listeners feel like they are being yelled at, even though he is not being insulting. The school has held a meeting and given him suggestions to adjust his behavior to be gentler and more appropriate," said Mr. Dung.
