BYD launches "affordable" supercar Denza Z, full of technology

BYD's Denza Z supercar concept appeared at the 2025 Shanghai International Auto Show. Z is a 4-seat supercar, inheriting a series of BYD's latest technologies to compete on equal terms with famous German sports car brands.

The 2026 Denza Z supercar adopts the Pure Emotion design concept, combining aerodynamics and design for performance and is built for the track. The Denza Z comes in two variants: hardtop and convertible.

The Denza Z concept supercar has a compact body. Details such as frameless windows, hidden door handles, large wheels... are the highlights of this car model.

While German and Italian car manufacturers still use traditional mechanical steering systems, Denza Z is equipped with a "steer-by-wire" steering system (electronic cable control steering system) combined with AI, improving the steering system from the street to track sessions.

To increase safety in the event of a collision, the steering wheel can be folded; this brings a new experience to the driver. Denza Z integrates the Disus-M intelligent body control system, an upgraded version of Disus-Z, the system adjusts the suspension response level in real time up to nearly 10 milliseconds.

This is the technology that helps Denza Z corner better. DiSus is a body control system announced by BYD on April 10, 2023, with 3 branches: DiSus-C, DiSus-A and DiSus-P. On March 27, Yangwang officially launched the U7, a sedan equipped with DiSus-Z. In the future, the Disus-M system will appear on Denza models.

According to Denza, the Z will be the first sports car to use BYD's e3 technology, which is considered a compact version of BYD's e4 technology designed for luxury cars, providing a 3-motor independent drive system with the ability to drive independently using 2 motors located at the rear wheels.

The current models on the market such as Z9, Z9GT and N9 are all equipped with e3 technology. The Denza Z Concept will complete the Denza product portfolio, showing that the brand is bringing technology and luxury to the sports car market.
