The contest was organized by the Ca Mau Province Literature and Arts Association, attracting the attention and response of many musicians and authors nationwide. After the launch, the Organizing Committee received 85 entries, including 61 vọng cổ songs and 24 songs.
Mr. Trinh Thanh Vu, Chairman of the Literature and Arts Association of Ca Mau province, said: “In order to ensure objectivity and fairness, the Organizing Committee invited the Jury, who are prestigious musicians and authors in the region (in particular, most of the Jury members of both majors are from other provinces) to participate in evaluating and assessing the quality of the works.”
Singer Hoang Cong and singer Sa La (Huong Tram Opera Troupe) performed the song "Ben dong Chac Bang" - an A prize-winning work by musician Nguyen Ngoc Hien.
As a result, in the Music category, there were 9 award-winning songs, including: 1 A prize, 1 B prize, 2 C prizes and 5 Encouragement prizes; in which the A prize belonged to musician Ngoc Hien (Ca Mau province) with the song “Ben dong Chac Bang”. In the field of vọng cổ songs, there were 13 award-winning works, including: 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes and 7 Encouragement prizes; author Vo Kim Trang (Ca Mau province) won the A prize with the vọng cổ song “Tau ve ben hen”.
"Unified Belief" (lyrics: Song Hieu, music: Nguyen Ngoc Hien, choreography: Phuc Tuan) is one of the entries selected to perform in many shows at the Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center.
Accordingly, the award ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 23.
