Ca Mau discovers fake 4th grade English textbooks

On June 23, news from the Market Management Department of Ca Mau province said that the unit had just coordinated with the VietnamEducation Publishing House in Can Tho City to organize a delegation to inspect companies and stores distributing textbooks in the province.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered hundreds of fake textbooks in subjects such as: 3rd grade math, 3rd grade Vietnamese, 4th grade English, 6th grade English, etc. The distribution stores were unable to provide invoices or legal documents for the above books. If calculated according to the listed price, the total value of the discovered fake textbooks is up to hundreds of millions of VND.

According to the Market Management Department of Ca Mau province, for English books for grade 4, the provincial People's Committee has just approved the list of textbooks. Currently, Ca Mau School Equipment and Books Company has not yet received the source of books from the Vietnam Education Publishing House ( the official supplier of textbooks for localities nationwide) to distribute to districts and cities in the province. However, the inspection team discovered that the books were already on sale at bookstores.

For the violating establishments, the Market Management Department of Ca Mau province has drawn up a record and confiscated the violating books to handle them according to regulations.
