Recently, Ho Chi Minh City Police issued an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan (born 1998, also known as Ngan 98) to investigate the crime of "Producing and trading in counterfeit food products".

On October 13 and 14, the Economic Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy searched Ngan 98's residence.

After many attempts, singer Luong Bang Quan repeatedly entered incorrect passwords, causing the safe to alarm and lock itself. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy brought the safe to the headquarters to open it according to the legal procedures.

Inside Ngan 98's safe there are 80 red books, 4 savings books and many valuable assets.

As a result, 80 red books, more than 8,000 USD, 4 bank savings books and some other related evidence were seized. At the same time, 2 cars were temporarily detained.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City Police had issued an arrest warrant for Ngan 98 for selling products containing banned substances. After collecting evidence, data, and exhibits, Ho Chi Minh City Police sent Ngan's products to the Institute of Criminal Science (C09) of the Ministry of Public Security .

Through that, it was determined that the products produced and traded by Ngan did not meet the declared quality standards and were counterfeit. Some of the samples, such as collagen tablets, contained the banned substances sibutramine and phenolphthalein.

These are active ingredients banned from use in food because they can cause cardiovascular disorders, high blood pressure, digestive disorders and potential cancer risks, seriously affecting the health of consumers.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are clarifying and proving the origin of the above assets. Previously, Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan delayed, did not cooperate, and did not comply with the summons of the Investigation Police Agency. At the police station, Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan resisted and gave a evasive statement.

Ho Chi Minh City police are determined to strictly handle all cases of law violations and resistance against law enforcement officers.
