Bau Duc's Hoang Anh Gia Lai starts growing coffee

(NLDO)- Hoang Anh Gia Lai will plant an additional 2,000 hectares of Arabica coffee, bringing the total coffee growing area to 3,000 hectares by the end of 2025.

On October 29, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (stock code: HAG), with Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc (Bau Duc) as Chairman of the Board of Directors, sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange reporting on the approval of the plan to list subsidiaries and investment decisions.

Specifically, in order to expand production and business activities and diversify capital sources in the coming time, the Board of Directors of Hoang Anh Gia Lai agreed to list two subsidiaries in Gia Lai, including: Hung Thang Loi Gia Lai Company Limited will be listed in 2026 and Lo Pang Livestock Joint Stock Company will be listed in 2027.

Regarding the investment plan, Hoang Anh Gia Lai will plant an additional 2,000 hectares of Arabica coffee, bringing the total coffee growing area to 3,000 hectares by the end of 2025.

In the period of 2026 - 2027, the Board of Directors agreed to plant 3,500 hectares of new coffee each year. By the end of 2027, the total coffee area will reach 10,000 hectares, with a variety structure of 70% Arabica and 30% Robusta.

Durian will be planted on an additional 1,000 hectares, bringing the total area to 3,000 hectares by the end of 2027.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai will also build two large-scale coffee processing factories in Laos (capacity of 1,500 tons/day) and Vietnam (700 tons/day), applying advanced technology to produce high-quality coffee beans, taking advantage of geography and soil to enhance the brand in the international market.

The company also invested in building a durian freezing cold storage system with a total area of ​​20,000m² and 3 durian processing factories located in Laos and Vietnam.

Previously, at the shareholders' meeting in April 2025, Mr. Duc revealed that he would expand new crops such as mulberry to produce silk for export and coffee growing.

Regarding business performance, in the first 9 months of 2025, Hoang Anh Gia Lai recorded net revenue of more than VND 5,600 billion, up 34% over the same period. Profit after tax reached VND 1,312 billion, up sharply by 54% over the same period last year.

As of the end of September 2025, the company's total assets reached VND 27,744 billion, an increase of 25% over the beginning of the year.

On the stock exchange, HAG shares jumped to the ceiling price of VND16,950/share in the session on October 29 and increased by nearly 41% in early 2025.
