Top student in block C: Study hard and study all subjects equally

Dinh Thi Bich Ngoc, a 12th grade English 1 student at Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted, Ninh Binh, became the national valedictorian with 57.85 points. At the same time, the female student also became the valedictorian of block C00 (literature, history, geography) with a total score of 29.75/30.

As an English major student with an IELTS score of 8.5, Bich Ngoc said that her secret to learning English is to regularly watch movies and listen to music in English to have a good learning environment. In addition, during her studies, Ngoc always plans her studies carefully and studies all subjects equally so that she does not feel pressured by too much knowledge near the exam.

Before the high school graduation exam results were out, Bich Ngoc had been admitted early to many schools including the University of Foreign Languages, Hanoi National University; Foreign Trade University; Hanoi University, Hanoi Pedagogical University, Diplomatic Academy. The valedictorian said she would "finalize" the English Pedagogy major at the University of Foreign Languages - Hanoi National University.

Top student in block A: Grasp knowledge firmly

The top scorer in Block A in 2024 is Vu Dinh Thai from Thai Binh with a total score of 29.6 (9.6 in math, 10 in physics, 10 in chemistry). In other subjects, he also achieved quite high scores with 9.6 in English, 8 in literature, and 8.75 in biology. He is also the candidate with the highest total score in the Natural Science exam, with 55.95 points.

Sharing his study secrets, Vu Dinh Thai said that when faced with a question, he tries to understand it thoroughly, grasp the knowledge to apply it to the assignment. He searches for documents online and documents that teachers distribute at school. Loving math and chemistry, the male student once won first prize in the math competition for excellent students in Thai Binh province, and second prize in chemistry. However, despite liking math and chemistry, Thai still studies all subjects equally. Not long ago, Vu Duy Thai also became the valedictorian of the Thinking Assessment Test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology with 96.43/100 points.

Sharing about his future school choice, Vu Duy Thai said he loves information technology and is hesitating between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and FPT University because at FPT, he has a full scholarship.

Top student in block B: Hardworking in all subjects

The top candidate of group B is Nguyen Dang Linh Chi, grade 12 Chemistry, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong with a total score of 29.55, including 9.8 in math, 10 in chemistry and 9.75 in biology.

Sharing her study method, Linh Chi said that to achieve good results, she needs to have basic knowledge and be diligent in all subjects. For difficult lessons, she will directly meet with the teacher to ask until she understands. The female student also added that she is an introvert so she likes to sit alone to remember the lessons. The female student will register to study Medicine at Hanoi Medical University.

Top student of block D: Building a scientific study plan

Nguyen Phuong Linh (12A12 student of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, Vinh Phuc province) became the valedictorian of the D1 group nationwide in 2024 with a total score of 28.75. In the D01 group, Phuong Linh achieved a perfect score of 10 in English, 9 in math and 9.75 in literature. In other subjects, the female student also achieved impressive scores such as 9 in history, 9.75 in geography and 9.5 in civics.

The female student said that she always tries to build a scientific study plan and sets different goals for herself at each stage. In addition to the basic knowledge learned, she often chooses to learn through practical experiences or movies to gain more knowledge. When learning English, Phuong Linh's group mainly learns practically by communicating with foreigners at coffee shops and parks.

The top student of Block D received scholarships from many universities such as a 50% tuition scholarship from Fulbright University, a 75% tuition scholarship from British University Vietnam – BUV, a 250 million VND scholarship from Swinburne University, and a 70% tuition scholarship from VinUni University. The female student said she plans to study Business Administration Analysis at VinUni University.
