“1 millimeter away from you” – new film on VTV3 with children as the central characters

Perhaps since “C21 Special Task Force” nearly 20 years ago, VFC has had a long-running TV series whose main characters are school-age children. “1 millimeter away from you” will air on VTV3 “prime time” at 8 p.m. every Thursday and Friday, starting from September 4.

“A millimeter away from you” tells a pure yet touching story about friendship, family love and first love. The main setting is Cloud Village – where the childhood of a group of young friends appears brightly with countless mischievous pranks, “territorial protection” battles and warm, profound moments.

The center of the group of friends is Tu - a lively, mischievous girl who loves fairness and is considered the "leader" of the headquarters. Accompanying Tu are Bach - a good-natured, studious boy next door; Thu "butter tube" who is smart and good at calculating; Bien - an affectionate, skillful orphan boy; Duc is mischievous and adorable, always considering Tu as an idol and Quyen - Duc's older sister, a lovely but weak girl due to congenital heart disease, who is cherished by the group like an angel. The children had a brilliant, bright childhood, full of mischief and battles, but also sweet and profound moments of friendship.

In that “headquarters”, an interesting love triangle gradually formed: Duc considered Tu as an admirable “leader”, Tu considered Bach as his greatest support and even innocently declared that he would marry Bach in the future. Along with the story of children, the film also interwoven the sweet but also quarrelsome first love between Vien – Tu’s brother and Ngan – Bach’s sister, creating unforgettable memories of their youth.

However, the beautiful childhood did not last forever. An unexpected incident caused the group of friends of Lang May to separate, leaving behind clear memories and a hidden secret. More than 20 years later, when everyone had their own lives, Tu - now the operations director of the company founded by his brother and friends, coincidentally returned to his hometown. That unexpected reunion revealed the secret of the past, awakening memories that seemed to have been dormant forever.

Although it has a rather “romantic” name, in reality, “A Millimeter Away From You” deeply explores the theme of friendship and the main character is not one but a large group of friends, from childhood to adulthood. The journey of the characters in the film is a journey to find friends, awakening childhood memories and dreams.

Tu - the leader, is the one who is determined to put the pieces of the "headquarters" back together, so that they always have a solid friendship to rely on, so that no one feels alone when facing every life event. It is this somewhat "risky" choice that makes "A Millimeter Away From You" have a special color compared to the family and love film genre.

The film marks the debut of many promising child actors such as Thuc Phuong, Gia Long, Minh Xiu, Duc Phong, Quynh Trang, Son Tung, Tan Anh. Along with that is the return of familiar actors such as Minh Huyen, Ha Viet Dung, Huynh Anh, Trong Lan, Quynh Chau... in the roles of adult characters.

After the success of the crime films “Black Medicine” and “The Path”, the director duo Tran Trong Khoi and Pham Gia Phuong this time chose a different direction by taking the audience into a space filled with memories.

With “A Millimeter Away From You”, they challenge themselves in a new genre, not just “sticking” to crime films, and at the same time hope to bring an emotional work, evoking childhood memories and nurturing the lasting values of friendship.
