In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2025, many types of ornamental plants and flowers were brought to the market in Da Lat City ( Lam Dong Province) to serve people for Tet decoration.

However, kale grown in pots by Ms. Luong Thi Yen Van is a hot trending ornamental plant for Tet that many people love and order.

Ms. Van said that kale is a popular leafy vegetable in Da Lat City and on the market. Most notably, when the weather turns cold, the leaves of this vegetable also change color very beautifully.

"In 2024, I planted this type of cabbage to sell. During the planting process, I found that they had very beautiful and eye-catching colors and many people asked about them on social networks.

That's why this year I have planted 1,500 potted plants to sell for the Lunar New Year market in 2025.

So far, I see that the market response is very positive, many people in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have placed orders. So far, I have sold about 700 pots of kale with prices ranging from 100,000-150,000 VND/pot depending on color and size," Ms. Van shared.

Up to now, Ms. Van has sold about 700 pots during the Lunar New Year 2025.

According to the reporter, Ms. Luong Thi Yen Van planted one kale plant in each pot. Each pot has a different color such as green, pink, white, pink and white, very eye-catching. The kale plants were planted in pots from August 2024.

Up to now, Ms. Van's kale plants are growing very well, 20-40cm tall, with leaves nearly 30cm wide.

Ms. Van also said that this type of vegetable is very suitable for making salads, or eating with grilled meat of all kinds. Therefore, growers can both eat and display it during the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.

Holding a pot of flowers in her hand, Ms. Van said: "We can pick off the leaves that are old enough at the base to use as normal vegetables. This type of plant grows very slowly, they can grow up to a meter tall. When taking care of it, we just need to water it enough, occasionally fertilize it with a little fertilizer and the plant will last very long."

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thien - Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Da Lat City, Ms. Van is the Director of the Da Lat Garden Cooperative. Ms. Van has cooperated with many people to produce many types of crops with high economic value to develop the economy.

In recent times, Ms. Van has introduced to the market many unique and popular agricultural products such as spaghetti squash, Sweet palermo peppers and most recently, potted kale for Tet decoration. The Dalat Garden Cooperative is one of the typical production and business units of Dalat City.
