Previously, Ms. Truong Thi Hue (Ninh Hoa village, Ia Boong commune, Chu Prong district) worked as a seamstress but her income was unstable. After many visits to typical economic models organized by the Women's Union at all levels in the district, in 2019, she decided to choose the bird's nest farming model to start a business. In parallel with borrowing capital to invest in building a bird's nest house, she and her husband focused on learning from experience and participating in agricultural product consumption connection programs.
Ms. Hue informed: “Every year, I collect more than 30 kg of bird's nest, sell it for 1.3-1.8 million VND/tael, making a profit of more than 300 million VND. From this source of income, I built another bird's nest house worth 800 million VND and now have more than 1,000 bird's nests. In the coming time, my family will have a more stable income and create jobs for local workers."

With the support of loans from the Women's Union of Yen Do Ward (Pleiku City), Ms. Ngo Thi Hoa (Group 14) has also expanded the scale of her family's traditional cake production. Notably, from 2020 to now, with the support of the Women's Union of Yen Do Ward with a start-up loan of 30-50 million VND/year, Ms. Hoa has invested in more modern machinery. Currently, she has 8 sets of machines including: dough mixer, dough divider, egg beater, baking machine, packaging machine, filling mixer, butter beater. Every day, she supplies the market with 500 cakes of all kinds.
“To make our business successful, my husband and I always pay attention to ensuring food quality and safety. Thanks to the good quality, every day, the amount of cakes produced is consumed. On average, each month, after deducting expenses, I make a profit of 15 million VND,” Ms. Hoa informed.

At Group 12 (Yen Do Ward), Ms. Le Thi Phuong Thao has also succeeded with the commercial chicken farming model. At the end of 2024, the Women's Union of Group 12 supported her family with 100 chicks as capital for raising chickens. During the implementation process, the Union also supported an additional 1 million VND to buy food for the chickens and regularly provided instructions on how to care for and prevent diseases.
“Recently, I sold my chickens for more than 9.3 million VND and bought more than 200 fighting cocks to raise. I hope the model will be effective for my family to have income as well as create a premise to expand the scale of farming in the future,” Ms. Thao excitedly said.
