According to the report of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, by May 31, 10/15 administrative agencies and organizations of Can Tho City had presided over and coordinated with the corresponding administrative agencies and organizations of Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces in exchanging contents related to the development of plans for the arrangement and organization of the apparatus on the basis of merging and consolidating agencies when merging 3 provinces and cities.
In particular, the Department of Finance of Can Tho City has proactively advised the City People's Committee to issue necessary documents, and is drafting a draft to submit to the People's Committee for consideration and approval of arising tasks that need to be performed immediately in 2025 according to the provisions of Decree No. 98/2025/ND-CP of the Government. These tasks aim to create conditions for localities to repair and renovate working headquarters, ensuring readiness for the rearrangement of commune-level administrative units. In addition, the Department of Finance is also drafting a decision of the City People's Committee to stipulate specific support levels for commune-level administrative units to carry out the rearrangement, in the spirit of Resolution No. 76/2025/UBTVQH25 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs and relevant units to research and propose support policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers from Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces working in Can Tho City after the arrangement.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen stated that the directors of Can Tho City's departments are responsible for proposing a project to reorganize the internal organizational structure of the unit when merging with the corresponding units of the 3 provinces and cities; clearly assigning people and tasks, boldly decentralizing and delegating authority in implementing the tasks of reorganizing the apparatus, ensuring both leadership and direction in implementing the tasks of socio-economic development, and completing the arrangement of units on schedule according to the prescribed time.
Regarding public service units, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City said: It is necessary to retain 28 district-level project management boards (old), and study the establishment of branches under the provincial project management boards to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted implementation of projects. In the immediate future, 2 project management boards will be established on the basis of merging the corresponding units of the 2 provinces of Soc Trang and Hau Giang (the ODA Project Management Board of Can Tho will continue to consider merging later).
Agree to establish health stations in 103 communes and wards and use surplus health station headquarters as medical examination and treatment facilities for people.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen noted that during the arrangement process, it is necessary to pay more attention to archiving and digitizing records and documents; handling public assets; continuing to grasp the travel and accommodation needs of cadres, civil servants and public employees, in order to have timely solutions, ensuring the apparatus operates smoothly and effectively.
