- On the morning of April 26, the working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, inspected the import and export situation of goods and the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods at the Chi Ma border gate area (Loc Binh district).
According to the report of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board, in the first 4 months of 2025, import-export activities at Chi Ma border gate were smooth and grew strongly compared to the same period in 2024.
Specifically, the average number of vehicles carrying import and export goods cleared through customs is 210 vehicles/day, of which about 20 vehicles/day are exported and about 190 vehicles/day are imported. The total import and export turnover of all types of goods through Chi Ma border gate reached more than 920 million USD, an increase of 69% over the same period in 2024.
Also according to the report of the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 at the working session, in the first 4 months of 2025, the situation of smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, and entry and exit through border trails was strengthened by the functional forces on both sides of the border to inspect, control, and prevent. Anti-smuggling forces in Loc Binh district inspected and handled 139 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods. The total revenue paid to the state budget was nearly 2.8 billion VND.
At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches, functional forces at the border gate, leaders of Loc Binh District People's Committee... exchanged, discussed and clarified a number of contents related to the implementation of tasks of agencies and functional forces on import-export goods management, border management, coordination work against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods through the area...
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, praised the efforts of departments, branches, and the People's Committee of Loc Binh district, especially the functional forces directly at Chi Ma border gate in carrying out customs clearance of goods, as well as the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods across the border under the management area and through the Chi Ma border gate area in the past time.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee pointed out: The key task is still to continue to resolutely and synchronously implement solutions to promote the import and export of goods through the border gate. In particular, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone will coordinate with relevant agencies and forces to continue to promote customs clearance of goods through the border gate and continue to strengthen the management of projects implemented at Chi Ma border gate, not allowing violations to arise in construction activities at the border gate area.
The Regional Customs Branch VI has strengthened its direction to customs officers and civil servants to create the most favorable conditions for businesses to import and export goods through Chi Ma border gate. The Department of Industry and Trade has proactively implemented measures to grasp information about import and export activities through Chi Ma border gate, thereby promoting and calling on businesses to import and export goods through this border gate.
Regarding the task of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: The anti-smuggling functional forces of the province in general, and the anti-smuggling forces in Loc Binh district in particular, need to further strengthen coordination and deploy the work of preventing and combating smuggling and transporting smuggled goods across the border early and from afar; continue to synchronously deploy measures to promote the effectiveness and role of all forces in the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods through Chi Ma in particular and the whole province in general.
He also requested the Provincial Border Guard Command to coordinate with relevant forces and agencies to ensure security and order at the border gate area; and direct the Chi Ma Border Guard Station to increase the deployment of forces to patrol and control the border line, not allowing any subjects to illegally transport goods across the border in the management area.
Member agencies and forces under the Provincial Steering Committee 389 continue to deploy measures to control and prevent the transportation of smuggled and imported goods through the area.
Loc Binh District People's Committee coordinated with border guards to strengthen propaganda for people in border villages not to participate in transporting illegal goods for smugglers.
