People work hard for half their lives, hoping to spend the rest of their lives in peace and quiet, without having to worry about the troubles of the world. Every step we take is preparing us for the rest of our lives, without having to work hard to make a living.

Being a human being requires a kind heart, but don’t be too kind to the point of being disadvantaged. Some people pride themselves on being good people, not doing evil, but they encounter many troubles. No matter what kind of life you choose for yourself, don’t do the following things to have a comfortable and happy old age.

1. Don't sell your old house

Gold and silver are not as valuable as the house you have lived in for many years. Many people choose to live with their children and sell their house. However, the relationships between generations are quite complicated.

Some people do not get along with their daughter-in-law, even their daughter and son have different views on life and have to return to their hometown to avoid family conflicts. At that time, home is where you come back to enjoy a free and easy life.

Then you don't need to bother your children. When you are sad, you can visit your children and grandchildren.

2. Don't protect your children when they grow up.

Every family has different problems with the growth of their children. Every parent wants to give their children the best things, ready to arrange a path for their children step by step. However, in reality, no child likes such a pre-arranged path. Parents want their children to go east but they want to run west.

Middle-aged people understand the truth that children need to grow up away from their parents, they need to experience everything for themselves to grow up and become stronger.

So, when you face your children's problems, you need to be ruthless and let go. Don't try to control them, don't interfere too much in their lives. You need to understand that there is a huge gap between the two generations, the more you force your children, the more they will want to leave you.

3. Don't exercise or train too hard

According to experts, exercise and physical training are very important for the elderly. Because at this time, metabolism and function of many parts and organs in the body are impaired. Especially the musculoskeletal system of the elderly is no longer flexible.

Therefore, exercise and training will help the body to be more durable, increase endurance, support blood pressure control, and improve cholesterol. However, the health of the elderly is not as good as that of young people, so they should not exercise too hard and continuously for a long time.

The elderly need to consult a suitable exercise and training regimen for their health. They should not exercise too often, especially exercises with difficult movements and high intensity. The elderly should exercise and practice exercises suitable for their physical condition. This will help improve health, support the stimulation of smooth blood circulation, increase cardiovascular endurance, etc.

4. Don't give your savings to your children to keep.

Many people think that being single and old and having too much money is not safe, so they give it to their children to keep. If one day you are unable to take care of yourself or suffer from dementia, you will not be able to remember who gave the money to.

Some people also think that they can rely on their children when they are old and want to give them money so that they will be responsible for taking care of them. However, this is not really the right way of thinking. Children's filial piety cannot be measured by the money their parents give them. If children are filial, they do not need their parents to give them money to be responsible for taking care of them.

Parents can open a savings account for themselves. Then, if you want, you can give that savings account to your children without telling them in advance. This way, your children can withdraw money if anything happens to their parents.

5. Don't interfere too much in your child's life.

For a happy family life and a peaceful old age, the elderly should also limit their intervention in their children's lives. Because the children have grown up, have independent lives and thoughts. Children do not like to be controlled or constrained.

Therefore, if parents try to control their children's lives too much, it will inevitably lead to conflicts and disagreements. Even if it comes from good intentions, children will still see it as unnecessary interference. Moreover, the elderly should not interfere too much, not making decisions, plans or personal family affairs of their children, which will also help to make old age more enjoyable.
