* In Lanh Ngoc commune , prolonged heavy rain combined with the discharge of floodwaters from upstream by the Tranh 2 and Tranh 3 hydropower plants, the rising water level of the Tum River, caused many residential areas and village roads in villages 14 and 15 to be deeply submerged in water.
Since the afternoon of October 28, some low-lying areas and some important roads through villages 14 and 15 have been deeply flooded, causing traffic congestion.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the commune and villages urgently checked and put up warning signs at points at risk of landslides and flash floods; barricaded and blocked deeply flooded roads; and helped people move their assets to higher ground to limit damage.

According to preliminary statistics, in villages 14 and 15, nearly 400 households were deeply flooded, some crop areas were flooded, poultry were swept away by water...
Local authorities urgently supported and evacuated people in vulnerable areas, and provided food and drinking water to people in deeply flooded areas.

On the morning of October 29, the leaders of Lanh Ngoc commune inspected flood prevention and control work in hamlets 14 and 15, encouraged the people; and at the same time requested the forces to proactively support food and drinking water for the isolated areas; prepare human resources and means to overcome landslides and fallen trees, and ensure smooth traffic.

* In Tam Xuan commune , on the afternoon of October 29, Party Secretary Le Van Sinh said that the locality has made a plan to evacuate 941 households at risk of flooding due to the possibility of prolonged rain and floods.

Accordingly, the Tam Xuan Commune Civil Defense Command coordinated with the Commune Military Command, Commune Police and village chief to inspect all flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides in the area.
Up to now, the commune's rescue forces have completed the evacuation of 135 households with 531 people.
After inspecting the villages, Tam Xuan commune has made a plan to evacuate 941 households at risk of flooding if the water level continues to rise in the coming days.
The specific plan will be to relocate 886 households to high-rise buildings. It is expected that 55 households from Ba Bau, Thach Kieu, Tan Loc Ngoc, and Long Thanh villages will be relocated to shelters at Chu Van An School, Thach Bich Cooperative headquarters, Tan Loc Ngoc village cultural house, and the old Ngo May Primary School.
Currently, Tam Xuan commune has 9/23 villages flooded, 400 houses flooded from 0.3-1m, affecting the lives of 1,250 people. Some areas were flooded due to heavy rain and rising river water in the villages: Phu Dong, Ba Bau, Thach Kieu, Vinh An Nam, Vinh An Bac, Phu Trung Dong...
Tam Thanh Border Guard Station arranged a permanent working group of 4 officers and soldiers, coordinating with the Tam Xuan Commune Military Command to be on duty 24/7, ready to rescue people and move assets to a safe place in case of emergency.
