Bac Ninh: Pollution problem from livestock farming activities in industrial clusters
According to information from the Agriculture and Environment newspaper, at Xuan Lam Industrial Park, Bac Ninh province, pig and chicken farming activities carried out by the Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (under Nhan Nghia Group) are causing serious environmental consequences.
Although located in an industrial planning area, this company has arbitrarily implemented an illegal livestock and poultry farming model, violating the land use purpose and posing a potential risk of disease outbreaks that are difficult to control.
The company’s barns are arranged into two separate areas for pigs and chickens, with a fairly systematic scale. However, according to feedback from people around the area, this livestock farming activity has been going on continuously for the past 4-5 years, despite previous warnings and requests from the authorities.
Specifically, the Thuan Thanh town government inspected and ordered an immediate halt to livestock farming in the industrial park, but it seems the company did not comply and continued to maintain this activity. This made the local community extremely upset, especially when the livestock farms were located next to the An Phuc Bac Ninh Concrete Mixing Station, increasing the level of pollution and negatively affecting the living environment.
