In Thu Bon commune, the “Zero-VND Kitchen” of the Commune Women’s Union has been operating at full capacity for many days. Chairwoman of the Commune Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Hop said that from October 28 to 30, women took turns cooking each pot of rice and packing each box of food to deliver to flooded households.
To date, the association’s kitchen has cooked and given nearly 5,500 portions of noodles, vermicelli, and rice to people in flood-affected areas. In addition, the commune’s women’s associations have also gathered and organized the cooking of thousands of meals to send to the affected people, helping them to ease their difficulties.

In Thang An commune, the Women's Union promptly joined the Front Committee and other organizations to visit and encourage families who suffered heavy losses due to the flood. At the same time, they called on branches and donors to join hands to cook more than 2,100 hot meals and deliver them directly to people in flooded areas.
Sharing about this activity, Ms. Ho Thi My Le, President of the Women's Union of Thang An commune, said: "Seeing people struggling in the flood, many families not having time to prepare anything, all the women in the association feel sorry. We just hope to contribute a little effort, cook a hot meal so that everyone has more energy and confidence to overcome difficulties."

In the same spirit, in Phu Phong block (Quang Phu ward), on days of heavy rain, dozens of cadres and women's union members were busy in the small kitchen wrapping more than 2,000 banh u to give to households that were deeply flooded. Each cake was carefully wrapped and cooked overnight to be delivered to the people the next morning.
In Xuan Phu commune, where 12 out of 27 villages were severely flooded, women's associations in safe areas proactively mobilized necessities, slaughtered pigs and chickens, and cooked rice to share with isolated villages. "Humanity in the flood became even warmer when women did not mind the long distance, ready to brave the rain to bring each portion of food to the people," said Ms. Vo Thi Minh Anh, President of the Women's Union of Xuan Phu commune.
Not only at the grassroots level, the city's female entrepreneurs also quickly joined hands, demonstrating their social responsibility through practical actions. On October 29 and 30, the Danang Women Entrepreneurs Club - Southern region mobilized and presented 700 gifts worth nearly 100 million VND to people in affected localities such as Dien Ban Dong, Huong Tra, Tra My...

At the same time, the City Women Entrepreneurs Association called on members to contribute and give nearly 1,000 gifts including instant noodles, milk, cakes, water and essential necessities, with a total cost of nearly 150 million VND, to support people and medical facilities that were deeply flooded.
Ms. Huynh Thi Cuc, Head of Social Work Department, City Women Entrepreneurs Association said, based on the actual situation, the association continues to mobilize members to contribute and support necessities and some items such as blankets, mosquito nets and means of livelihood to help people stabilize their lives soon.

According to Chairwoman of the City Women's Union Hoang Thi Thu Huong, in the face of complicated weather developments, the City Women's Union directed all levels of the union to coordinate with local authorities to organize evacuation and support for people in flooded areas, especially households with pregnant women, young children, and lonely elderly people; and to propagate to members to proactively prevent and ensure safety of life and property, and not to be subjective in any situation.
By the end of October 29, women's associations at all levels in the city had donated nearly 7,000 portions of rice, vermicelli, and porridge; more than 3,000 banh u, 1,000 banh tet, along with hundreds of cartons of water and many other necessities, with a total value of more than 350 million VND. Many branches became "on-site supply points", along with functional forces, providing food, clean water, and household items to households in isolated areas.
“Through those simple but meaningful actions, the image of Da Nang women is once again portrayed with a spirit of humanity and responsibility, ready to share and join hands with the community to overcome natural disasters,” Ms. Huong expressed.
