In order to contribute to raising legal awareness for fishermen, helping people better understand the regulations on legal seafood exploitation, and at the same time strengthen the solidarity between the military and the people, join hands to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, on the morning of November 13, 2025, Squadron 42, Command of Coast Guard Region 4 coordinated with the People's Committee of U Minh commune to organize the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", combined with propaganda for the peak period of prevention and combat of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.


At the program, Major Pham Van Quoc, Deputy Political Commissar of Squadron 421, Squadron 42, disseminated the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard and contents related to the prevention and combat of IUU fishing. Delegates and people watched the documentary "Mock Trial on Combating Illegal Fishing" produced by Squadron 42.

In addition, Squadron 42 also distributed national flags and propaganda leaflets to the people at the hall and combined with direct propaganda to fishermen in coastal areas.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 20 gifts to policy households and fishermen in difficult circumstances in U Minh commune, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love, sharing, and encouraging people to go out to sea.
The program ended in a friendly and united atmosphere, contributing to strengthening the close relationship between the Coast Guard and local people, together aiming at the goal of sustainable seafood exploitation and ending IUU violations.
