On May 27, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board announced that the La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway expansion package, expanding the road surface from 2 lanes to 4 complete lanes, with a road surface width of 22m, a design speed of 60-80km/h, has approved the consulting and construction contractor, and is expected to start the expansion on May 29.

According to the results of the contractor selection that have just been approved for the construction supervision consultancy package and the XL01 package for the construction of the La Son - Hoa Lien section, part of the North - South expressway expansion project in the east, including survey items, construction drawing design, equipment installation and construction, the XL01 package was won by a consortium of 7 contractors with a value of more than VND 2,705 billion, nearly VND 5.18 billion lower, equivalent to 0.19% compared to the approved package price.

The implementation period of the package is 240 days from the date of approval (May 23, 2025). The project has a route length of about 65km; expanding the road surface from 2 lanes to 4 complete lanes, with a road surface width of 22m, design speed of 60-80km/h. In addition, the TV12 package for construction supervision consultancy of package XL1 is worth more than 15 billion VND.

The La Son - Hoa Lien expressway expansion project starts at Km0, connecting to the end point of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway, located in La Son town (Phu Loc district, Hue city). The end point is Km66, at Hoa Lien intersection connecting to the starting point of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route, located in Hoa Lien commune (Hoa Vang district).
