From April 29 to May 3, the number of visitors to Binh Thuan reached more than 160,000, double that of last year.

Room rates at resorts in Mui Ne increased by 30-40%, while some hotels in Phan Thiet increased even more. In La Gi, Ham Thuan Nam, and Tuy Phong, the increase was insignificant.

In particular, at Phu Quy Island (56 nautical miles from Phan Thiet mainland), because there is a high-speed boat that takes just over 2 hours to get to the island, the number of visitors to explore the island this year is quite large. According to statistics, from April 29 to May 3, about 10,000 visitors came to Phu Quy Island.

According to the analysis of Mr. Tran Van Binh - Vice President of Binh Thuan Tourism Association, the reason why Mui Ne welcomed a high number of visitors on April 30 and May 1 this year is because the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway was just inaugurated and put into operation on April 29, shortening the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne to only 2.5 hours, instead of 5 - 6 hours as before via National Highway 1. On the other hand, this holiday lasts right in the hot season, so most of the visitors traveling with their families want to go to the beach to relax and swim in the sea during these hot days.

According to the Department of Culture - Sports - Tourism of Binh Thuan, the April 30 holiday this year brought about 230 billion VND to the tourism industry of Binh Thuan.
