Chido-Obi and the first team went to Spain.

According to Manchester United, Obi-Martin is on the trip only to train with the first team. He will participate in a special training session after the match in the early morning of May 2 to continue to integrate into the top football environment.

The appearance of the 17-year-old striker in the list of 26 players announced by coach Ruben Amorim has caused much curiosity among fans, especially when he is not eligible to register for the knockout round of the Europa League this season.

Under UEFA regulations, a young player is only eligible for a club's "B list" for European competition if he has been with the club for at least two years. Meanwhile, Chido-Obi only joined from Arsenal in the summer of 2024.

Coach Ruben Amorim has explained his decision to leave Obi-Martin out of the Europa League squad, saying it would help him integrate and develop in a competitive forward position, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee competing.

"I am trying to manage both the sporting and psychological aspects of the young players," the Portuguese coach emphasized.

Despite not being allowed to play in Europe, Obi-Martin has still left a strong impression with 14 goals in 15 games at U18 and U21 level. He has also made 6 appearances for the first team, including 5 in the Premier League, and is expected to explode in the near future.
