On May 13, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC Hanoi), last week (from May 2-9), the whole city recorded 189 measles cases in 28 districts; 0 deaths; the number of cases decreased by 2 cases compared to the previous week (191 cases/0 deaths).
Hanoi CDC said that measles is on a downward trend, but it is forecasted that there will still be sporadic cases in the coming time.
Some units recorded many patients such as: Nam Tu Liem (19 cases); Ba Vi (16 cases), Cau Giay (16 cases), Dong Da (16 cases); Ba Dinh (14 cases); Gia Lam (11 cases); Ha Dong (10 cases), Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri (10 cases).
Accumulated from 2025 to present, Hanoi city recorded 2,454 measles cases in 30/30 districts, towns, and cities, with 1 death, an increase compared to the same period in 2024. Patients are distributed by age group: 12.6% under 6 months; 13.7% from 6-8 months; 8.6% from 9-11 months; 20.8% from 1-5 years old; 13.8% from 6-10 years old, 14.1% from 11-15 years old; 16.4% ≥ 16 years old.
Hanoi CDC requires district, county, and town health centers to continue reviewing and organizing measles vaccination for children of regular vaccination age and children subject to campaign vaccination, ensuring progress according to set requirements.
Units strengthen coordination between the health andeducation sectors in monitoring, preventing and handling cases and outbreaks of measles, hand, foot and mouth disease... in schools; Coordinate the implementation of vaccination in schools as well as review and propagate to parents to have their children fully vaccinated according to regulations./.
