The Ai Tu Lake Ecotourism and Resort Project was approved under Investment Policy Decision No. 2034/QD-UBND dated July 28, 2020 of the Provincial People's Committee. According to the plan, the project includes 16 type 1 villas, 23 type 2 villas and about 90 bungalows.
In addition, there are also items such as restaurant complexes, commercial services, outdoor entertainment areas, camping areas and a 500-seat conference center. The goal is to create a diverse resort that attracts tourists from within and outside the province.
Initially, the project was scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2021 and be completed in the first quarter of 2023. However, the implementation process encountered many obstacles, especially in site clearance because the project was not subject to state land acquisition, and the investor had to negotiate the transfer of land use rights with the people. The project was forced to stop due to the investor's financial difficulties after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, the resort real estate market in the area did not develop as expected due to being severely affected by the pandemic. Sam Cam Investment Joint Stock Company decided to terminate the project's operations in accordance with Point a, Clause 1, Article 48 of the 2020 Investment Law.
The Department of Finance requested Sam Cam Investment Joint Stock Company to complete the procedures for liquidating the investment project and fulfill the investor's obligations in accordance with the law. The investment policy decision No. 2034/QD-UBND dated July 28, 2020 of the Provincial People's Committee will also be revoked.
