This is the first school year that the entire education sector has operated stably after the province's merger, marking many positive changes in the care, nurturing and education of children at the early stages of life.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Nguyen attended and directed the conference with nearly 280 delegates from preschools and kindergartens across the province.
Mobilizing children to go to class with high results
In the 2024-2025 school year, the province will have 218 preschools with more than 2,100 groups and classes. The preschool education sector has mobilized over 56,000 children to go to school, of which nearly 100% of 5-year-old preschool children study 2 sessions/day and complete the preschool education program according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training .
The rate of mobilizing ethnic minority preschool children to attend class also reached over 93%, contributing to maintaining the achievements of universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children in the province.
Mr. Ho Thanh Nhut, Deputy Head of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education, summarized the 2024-2025 school year and deployed key tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.
Nearly 96.5% of groups and classes organize 2 sessions/day, creating favorable conditions for implementing the preschool education program well and enhancing coordination between schools and parents in caring for and educating children.
Along with ensuring quantity, the provincial education sector also focuses on improving the quality of nurturing and comprehensive development for children.
Care about nutrition, health and capacity development
Last school year, 100% of preschool children had their health monitored regularly; the rate of stunting malnutrition was under 0.4%, overweight - obesity was about 2.6%, reflecting the effectiveness of nurturing and care.

Infrastructure continues to be invested in, nearly 85% of schools meet national standards, 100% complete self-assessment of quality; teachers and management staff are regularly trained.
Many positive models and methods have been effectively implemented such as STEAM, happy kindergarten, child-centered; maintaining topics on developing motor skills, language, etiquette, and life skills.
The programs “I love Vietnam”, English immersion, inclusive education… are widely replicated, contributing to creating a diverse learning environment, promoting children’s comprehensive development.

Focus on innovation, towards a safe and effective environment
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province emphasized: “Preschool education is the foundation for the sustainable development of the entire education system. To achieve the goal of “Children today – the world tomorrow”, educational institutions need to continue to innovate methods, focus on health care, safety, nutrition, as well as build a friendly, positive learning environment, suitable for local conditions and children”.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen suggested that localities and units need to step up consultation work, mobilize social resources, invest in building classrooms, and supplement outdoor equipment and toys. At the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of preschool education programs, especially the organization of boarding meals and ensuring safety for children.
In the 2025-2026 school year with the theme "Proactive - Creative - Responsible - Safe - Effective", Ca Mau Preschool Education focuses on maintaining and improving the quality of universal education for 5-year-old children, expanding the mobilization of preschool children to attend classes, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas; ensuring physical and mental safety and improving the quality of nurturing and care.
The industry focuses on life skills education, language development, forming positive habits through experiential activities, focusing on children, applying active and integrated STEAM education methods. At the same time, promoting digital transformation in management and teaching; encouraging the application of technology, sharing open learning materials to improve expertise.
The team is trained in capacity, ethics, pedagogical skills, and violence prevention; educational institutions are encouraged to build a friendly and safe environment, aiming for a "Happy Kindergarten". The industry strengthens inspections of boarding schools, school meals, school hygiene, prevention of poisoning, accidents, and epidemics, ensuring absolute safety for children.

Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Nguyen emphasized that the spirit of “Proactiveness – Creativity – Responsibility” must be instilled from management staff to each teacher; each kindergarten needs to be a place where children are cared for with love, taught with responsibility, developed in a positive, child-centered environment, and closely connected with the locality and parents to improve the quality of care.
